Orange has begun testing a satellite TV service in Slovakia.
Zive reports that although information about the service is still sketchy, it is employing Eutelsat 16 at 16 degrees East, which is also used by Antik Sat and Flix TV.
A1 is providing the uplink and at present the service is distributing Slovak and Czech TV channels.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Zive revealed in January that Orange plans to launch a DTH platform in Slovakia, perhaps as soon as Q2 this year.
Orange is currently present in Slovakia’s IPTV market and is also its largest mobile operator.
It has for some time also provided an alternative DTH service via Skylink, though it is likely this will close once it launches its own platform.
