A total of 323,700 subscribers in Moldova received either cable or IPTV-delivered pay-TV services as of the end of 2017.
This, according to data published by the regulator ANRCETI, was 19.9% more than a year earlier.
At the same time, the number of fixed-line internet subscribers grew by 4.8% to 584,300.
Pay-TV penetration at the end of 2017 stood at 9.1%, while that for fixed-line internet was 16.5%.
ANRCETI notes that the most significant increase in 2017 was that for mobile broadband users, which rose by 28.3% to 2.43 million.
Revenues in the electronic communications market as a whole fell by 1.6% to MDL6.625 billion (€327.7 million), while in those in the audiovisual broadcasting and retransmission sector fell by 12% to MDL262 million.
