German content4tv secures growth capital

August 10, 2017 09.00 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

content4tv, the new German service provider supplying cable companies and platform operators with TV channel carriage rights, has successfully completed its second investment round.

The investment round which was several times oversubscribed was completed in only three weeks and assures the capital requirements during the forthcoming years, according to content4tv. One of the new shareholders is venture capital partner btov.

“We are happy about the trust the investors put in our business model and our development plans. The new shareholder structure also enables us to grow further through acquisitions,” said Helmut Kohl, Managing Partner and Investor Relations Manager of content4tv.

Kohl is a long-time, active member of btov’s private investor network and participates in start-up companies as an active early-stage investor through btov.

content4tv provides public utility companies, city carriers, FTTx providers, IPTV operators and the housing industry with carriage rights for TV channels as linear channels and multiscreen services for mobile devices. The partners receive all rights from one source, independent of their way of reception and redistribution of the channels.

As a sole B2B provider, content4tv does not compete with network operators for customers. The company’s founders, shareholders and managing directors are Martina Rutenbeck, Helmut Kohl and Reinhard Sauer who previously worked in leading positions at Eutelsat Deutschland, KabelKiosk, M7 Deutschland, Kabel Deutschland, Unitymedia, Tele Columbus and other companies.
