Strong promotion in Virgin Media reorg

March 29, 2017 06.49 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

Virgin Media has announced a reorganisation of its senior management team with new and expanded roles for Dana Strong, Jeff Dodds and Peter Kelly.

They will lead three newly created customer units: Consumer, Business and Mobile.

The new Consumer division, led by Dana Strong, has full responsibility for consumer sales, install and service, product development, pricing, marketing and digital. Strong is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer of Liberty Global and has held a number of senior roles across the Group and in the UK and Irish businesses of Virgin Media.

Jeff Dodds re-joins Virgin Media in the newly created role of Managing Director, Mobile. Dodds previously held a number of senior roles at Virgin Media prior to the acquisition of the business by Liberty Global after which he joined the Tele2 Group to lead the transformation of Tele2 Netherlands into a full quad play operator and then TalkTalk as Managing Director, Mobile.

Peter Kelly, Managing Director of Virgin Media Business (VMB), takes responsibility for an enlarged Business division which now includes Business Customer Operations (BCO). This move means Kelly and his team have full oversight over every aspect of Business operations.

As announced earlier this month, Rob Evans who was previously Managing Director, Core Network and Operations now has responsibility for the delivery of Project Lightning with a dual reporting line to Tom Mockridge, CEO of Virgin Media and Balan Nair Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Liberty Global.

Separately, Gregor McNeil who is currently Managing Director of Consumer at Virgin Media, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer at Cable & Wireless, Liberty Global’s sister company in the Caribbean.
