French news channel BFM Business has revealed the number of subscribers to Canal+ and Canalsat per platform.
The French pay-TV broadcaster has never revealed these figures, but BFM Business has obtained and published the figures, which are believed to be correct at the end of 2015.
Canal+ subscribers per platform: 1.66 million homes subscribe via satellite; 670,000 via the nation’s digital terrestrial network TNT.
On cable and IPTV orange has the most subscribers with 530,000, followed by Free (490,000), SFR (250,000), Numéricable (220,000) and Bouygues (160,000).
The numbers of the Canalsat bouquet are as follows: 2.2 million in DTH satellite, 310,000 on digital terrestrial.
The four IPTV operators are Orange (390,000), Free (320,000), SFR (170,000) and Bouygues (110,000).
