MTVA, an umbrella organisation for Hungary’s public service media, has secured the rights to the Summer and Winter Olympics from 2018 to 2024.
Quoting a statement by MTVA, BBJ reports that as a result the Olympics will be broadcast in Hungarian for the first time across the Carpathian Basin.
It adds, quoting MTVA’s interim executive Miklós Vaszily, that the rights also include digital content.
MTVA was established in 2011 and provides around 40,000 hours of TV, as well as 52,000 hours of radio, content each year.
