The Polish public broadcaster TVP has signalled a major shift in its on demand strategy and will no longer make its content available to other services on an AVOD basis from the middle of this year.
Speaking to Wirtualne Media, Maciej Stanecki, a member of the board at TVP, said that existing agreements with such on demand services as VOD.pl and Ipla.tv would be honoured until they expire in mid-2016 but no new TVP content would be made available on a AVOD basis.
Stanecki added that TVP will focus on developing its own on demand service Vod.tvp.pl, which will continue to offer proprietary content and employ the AVOD business model.
