Connected TVs were the most popular device to access the BBC iPlayer over the Christmas holiday period.
The BBC says that over the two-week long holiday period, access through connected TVs was up by 32% when compared to the same period in 2014.
In all Connected TVs accounted for 38% of unique browsers, followed by 24% on tablets, 22% on computers and 17% on mobiles.
Dan Taylor-Watt, Head of BBC iPlayer said: “Christmas was an extremely popular time for watching programmes on BBC iPlayer – and not just people viewing on computers, tablets and phones. We’ve seen a real surge in people watching the best of the BBC through connected TVs.
EastEnders, Mrs Brown’s Boys, The Apprentice and And Then There Were None most popular shows on BBC iPlayer over the festive period.
