BT TV added another 52,000 subs on the quarter as it continues to invest in content.
Capital expenditure increased by 47% on the quarter as the cost of freemium channel BT Sport grew for the telco. It’s also paid a £29 million deposit on the new Premier League rights contract.
The company announced annual pre-tax profits of £3,172 million, an increase of 12%.
The total number of TV customers now stands at 1.14 million and the BT Sport channel is currently in 5.2 million homes.
BT is currently waiting for regulatory approval on its £12.5 billion acquisition of mobile network EE.
