German commercial free-to-air channel Sat.1 Gold will offer its programmes in high definition from January 1, 2015.
Sat.1 Gold HD will be available to DTH satellite households on fee-based, encrypted Astra platform HD+ with distribution to take place on the frequency 11.111 GHz H (SR 22,000, FEC 2/3). HD+ will then carry a total of 20 channels.
With the HD simulcast of Sat.1 Gold which became known in November 2014, all free-to-air channels operated by TV group ProSiebenSat.1 are provided in HD quality.
