Poland’s two leading commercial broadcasters Polsat and TVN have resurrected a partnership named Polski Operator Telewizyjny (POT).
Quoting Andrzej Zarebski, who will sit on the partnership’s board, Wirtualne Media reports that it is likely to take part in a contest for what will be the country’s eighth DTT multiplex (MUX-8).
POT was originally active in the period 2005-2010, when DTT services were still at the planning stage in Poland.
Its activities were then suspended, with a view to them being reactivated between 2012-2014.
MUX-8 was originally going to be allocated to the public broadcaster TVP, but following protests by the industry the upcoming tender will be open to other parties.
