BSkyB secures 69% of Sky Deutschland

October 21, 2014 10.16 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Sky DeutschlandBSkyB has confirmed it has secured 69% of Sky Deutschland. It is part of the £5 billion agreement to create a European pay-TV giant that would also include Sky Italia.

German stock market rules mean that Sky’s €6.75 per share offer for the German business must now be extended to other shareholders, though the company has already said it would have been satisfied with a 57% holding.

The extended offer will run until November 3.
