The Ireland-based sports broadcaster Setanta Sport has launched its Setanta Sport Eurasia channel in Estonia on STV and on Baltcom in Latvia.
The channel, which is in addition distributed in Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Armenia, offers an extensive range of live sports such as La Liga BBVA, Italian Seria A, French Ligue 1, FA Cup, Capital One Cup, will soon also be made available in Lithuania.
Commenting on its launch in the Baltics, Dwyer Mccaughley, CEO of Setanta Sport Eurasia, said: “With the co-operation with our distribution agent Wide Media, we are happy to bring good news to Estonian and Latvian sports-fans, that they have now access to top-sport events. We have successfully launched channels into the surrounding territories and believe these markets and a natural extension for our business.
