AMC Networks International – Central Europe, which operates Sport1 and Sport2, has signed a three-year exclusive deal, commencing March 2015, to broadcast all Formula 1 races in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The deal covers the 2015, 2016 and 2017 F1 seasons and will see Sport1 and Sport2 show live coverage of all races and qualifying sessions of the F1 season. F1’s support races, GP2 and GP3, will also be broadcast.
Commenting on the deal, Levente B. Málnay, AMC Networks International Central Europe’s CEO, said: “I am convinced that these premium rights will mark our commitment to the greatest international and national sporting moments. F1 is one of the most attractive sporting events in the world and we will treat it with the deserved attention.”
Evzen Chlandla, country manager for the Czech Republic & Slovakia, added: “With all these highly popular programs, our sports channels will continue to be among the strongest and most attractive thematic television brands „Our production team will again provide a great viewing experience for the F1 fans. Besides live coverage, there will be highlights and a pit-lane reporter to provide further exclusive content.”
