RRsat to showcase end-to-end offer

September 3, 2014 19.21 Europe/London By Donald Koeleman

IBC LogoRRsat’s (Hall 1, B24) converged service solution for broadcast and online video will be its key focus at this year’s IBC.

The service allows content owners and publishers to prepare, manage and deliver content to any network, in any format, on any device.

RRsat has partnered with the New York-based open source online video platform provider Kaltura (Hall 3, B20m, C67), to showcase the end-to-end offering.

Its demo will incorporate RRsat’s playout solution and Kaltura’s online (OTT) video product, which according to the vendor engages viewers with highly personalised and social live & VOD viewing experiences across all devices.

Kaltura’s platform provides a workflow for content preparation for live and or linear content ingestion, transcoding and encryption, as well as modules for the management of content, devices, subscribers, business rules, analytics and content protection.

According to Ziv Mor, RRsat’s CTO, “content workflows for all platforms became a complex task for content owners and broadcasters. As a leading media service provider we developed the infrastructure, skills and capabilities to provide a hassle free solution, covering all services under a single roof via efficient workflows and integrated services. Broadcasters and content owners can approach both traditional and online viewers via one single RRsat contact and we’ll do the rest”.
