EBS (Stand 14. C01) has launched its Pawa software solution and portfolio of Pawa EPG data services.
Developed by EBS, Pawa provides a multi-platform, multi-territory, scalable solution that enables EPG data to be aggregated, restructured and delivered to any platform.
For channels and platforms to maximise EPG data for additional services like VOD and Download to Own (DTO), broadcasters need to adopt a clear, defined workflow. Pawa provides them with a solution to this problem accommodating the full range of distribution requirements.
Pawa can import listings from a variety of formats, storing them centrally in preparation for distribution. Editors can then add any additional data required for translations, or extra metadata (such as images or cast) before the listings are sent directly to the multiple platforms desired, in the formats required. Pawa can be bought as a managed service, whereby EBS handles the entire EPG data process, requiring only schedules and updates. Alternatively, it can be used in-house, with support and training from EBS.
According to Keith Bedford, EBS’s MD, “The way that we consume content has changed drastically in recent years and providing data that enables viewers to discover content is key. Broadcasters and content owners have to ensure that they continue to provide high quality, EPG data services for traditional linear services and at the same time have to adopt new working methods for VOD and DTO services. EBS has launched Pawa to provide a full portfolio of EPG data services that meets the needs of today’s modern broadcast world.”
