President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree authorising the sale of the 50% stake in Kosmos-TV currently held by the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network (RTRS).
AKTR and TV Digest report that the decree, which came into effect on August 11, now gives the government one month to organise the sale.
Kosmos-TV is one of the longest-established providers of analogue and digital TV services in Russia and currently works closely with the telco Akado.
A draft presidential decree, offering the 50% stake held by RTRS to Sistema, Kosmos-TV’s other owner, was published for discussion last November.
