Irdeto has announced a new deployment of its Irdeto Rights product with Liberty Global.
The international cable company will use Irdeto Rights to deliver content securely to IP devices as part of the Horizon suite of services.
The technology is already live in the Netherlands and Ireland.
The over-the-top (OTT) service is available free of charge to consumers when they subscribe to both Liberty Global’s internet and TV packages.
Irdeto says it is also working with Liberty Global to secure content over IP via the set-top-box video gateway.
“As the number of connected devices that consumers use to view content increases, operators should be looking to ensure that they are doing their utmost to secure valuable assets and that customers are able to easily access the content they desire on a device of their choosing,” said Graham Kill, CEO, Irdeto. “In selecting Irdeto Rights, Liberty Global has proven that it is committed to protecting premium content, something that Irdeto is proud to be part of.”
Irdeto Rights is a core element of Irdeto Multiscreen, a suite of solutions launched at IBC 2013.
