Al Jazeera has received a licence from the Swedish Broadcasting Authority and launched to Swedish viewers through the DTT platform Boxer.
The duration of the licence lasts until March 31, 2020. The channel has now a potential reach of 600,000 DTT homes in Sweden.
“The granting of this licence by the Swedish Broadcasting Authority is an endorsement of the real appetite in Sweden for international news and storytelling,” commented Ehab Sahawneh, executive director of marketing and distribution at Al Jazeera.
