Finnish Multiscreen operator Maxsat has selected the Arris GT-3 Multiple Bitrate Transcoder as part of the international expansion of its content hub.
It says international service providers and broadcasters will be able to introduce online multiscreen services without the traditional complexity and cost associated with multiscreen infrastructure, operations, and content distribution.
The company was looking for a system capable of scaling to a variety of video data rates and resolutions.
“With our Maxicaster solution and Content Hub, Maxisat can now directly address one of the traditional challenges faced by Service Providers and Broadcasters entering the online multiscreen domain: delivering tomorrow’s entertainment experiences on today’s networks,” said Tommi Blom, CEO Maxisat. “By offering full end-to-end multiscreen capabilities, which are managed on behalf of our customers, we can help Service Providers avoid the risk associated with service launches and build the foundation for sustainable delivery.”
Maxisat is an established customer of Arris and its predecessor Motorola, having previously installed its Cherrypicker and APEX products, among others.
