Discovery Networks Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) have appointed Rafal Ogrodnik as CFO for CEEMEA.
Based in Discovery’s Warsaw regional headquarters, he will report to Doug Baker, EVP and CFO Discovery Networks International and Kasia Kieli, president & MD, Discovery Networks CEEMEA.
In his role at Discovery, Ogrodnik, who is an experienced finance leader, will be responsible for business planning and financial reporting, as well as covering key operational issues and helping to set the region’s strategic agenda.
He will replace Mike Papadimitriou, who previously held the position has become SVP & CFO, SBS Discovery Media.
Commenting on the appointment, Kieli said: “I am very pleased that Rafal has agreed to join us and contribute to Discovery’s development in CEEMEA. His significant experience working in very diverse industries from FMCG to Pharmaceuticals will bring a fresh perspective to our business, while his strong analytical and strategic skills will be a great asset as we move forward in the fast changing media environment.”
Discovery Networks CEEMEA now covers 105 markets across three continents.
In each of these markets, Discovery broadcasts up to 11 channels from a list that includes Discovery Channel, TLC, ID, Animal Planet, Discovery Science and Discovery HD Showcase.
