Phil Kent is to step down as CEO of Turner Broadcasting in January 2014 after more than a decade in charge. He will continue as chairman of TBS into 2014.
John Martin, currently Time Warner’s chief financial and administrative office will take his place
The move was announced on Wednesday in an email sent to Turner employees.
Kent’s responsibilities included the portfolio of US domestic and international networks and businesses from news to entertainment.
These include CNN US, HLN, CNN International, CNN.com, TBS, TNT, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network and TNT.
Under his watch CNN launched local language versions around the world as well as launching international entertainment channels.
