May 13, 2013 10.10 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Jan VorstermansJan Vorstermans, COO of Telenet, will leave the company on July 31, 2013. His responsibilities will be divided between two people.

Vorstermans started his career as a member of Telenet’s executive team in February 2003, as SVP, technology, engineering and network operations. He became the COO of the Company on October 10, 2010. After more than ten years, Jan Vorstermans was seeking for a new challenge and now wants to use his experience to assist young entrepreneurs in their start-up phase via his own company.

Jan Vorstermans commented on his departure: “I have been very happy working at Telenet for the past ten years. I have watched the company grow and I’m proud of what we have achieved for our customers over these years. As Head of Technology & Infrastructure and also as COO I was able to use my experience to the fullest extent in the development of innovative products such as Yelo TV or KING and KONG. I would like to thank all of my colleagues at Telenet for the past ten years. I am now looking forward to passing on the knowledge and experience I’ve gained to young entrepreneurs.”

John Porter, CEO Telenet, said in response to Jan’s departure: “Despite the fact that we only met quite recently, I know that Jan has made a major contribution to the success of Telenet as its COO and as head of the Networks & IT Organisation. He has demonstrated his multi-faceted expertise and skills in our industry. We are very pleased with his contribution to Telenet during the past years. His decision to assist young entrepreneurs in their start-up phase via his own company will certainly be well received. We thank Jan for the great cooperation during recent years and wish him a lot of success with his new challenge.”

Vorstermans’s respsonsibilties will bet aken oevr by Veenod Kurup, who will head up the Information Technology department, and a new CTO. Telenet is still looking to fill the position of CTO. Veenod Kurup and the new CTO will become members of the Telenet Executive Team.

Geert Van Hove, currently appointed Chief Information Officer at Telenet, is adding a next step to his career. Geert will become Vice President Business Transformation at LGI corporate.
