The new Czech national commercial broadcaster Petka (Five) and its sister service TV Metropol have run into financial difficulties.
Quoting Marek Vitek, Petka’s director, and Katerina Kotalova, a spokesperson for the station, E15 reports that they are in the process of looking for a new investor.
Petka began operating on a national basis in October, while TV Metropol is a regional service and has been present in Prague since 2010.
Both are majority owned by the billionaire Lubos Metka.
