More apps for Philips smart Net TVs

August 16, 2012 08.31 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Philips has added a number of new apps to its Net TV smart TV sets, including broadcasters from Russia, Turkey, Germany and Scandinavia.

Viaplay have signed two new partnership agreements for the launch of Viaplay on Philips Net TVs and Panasonic Smart Viera TVs across the Nordic countries. Users with a Viaplay subscription will be able to access a broad selection of TV series, movies and world-class live sport events, whenever they want, directly through the Philips and Panasonic connected TVs.

Turkish public broadcaster TRT has also made its app available for the Philips Net TV sets and is available with immediate effect. The app is released on Net TV/Smart TV enabled TVs from 2010 and onwards and on Net TV/Smart TV enabled BluRay Players / home theatre systems from 2011 and onwards.

German factual broadcaster Spiegel TV is now also available from the German app store on Philips Net TV. The app is released on 2011 and 2012 TV models in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Finally the Russian portal IVI.ru, a video store with movies, series, cartoons and TV programmes, has also become available.
