Baltic telcos up the ante

August 3, 2012 10.28 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Two of the leading TeliaSonera-backed telcos in the Baltic Republics have significantly improved their IPTV offers.

In Lithuania, TEO LT has introduced an additional ‘Startover’ service, for no additional fee, that allows subscribers to Interactive GALA TV to rewind, pause or fast-forward already running shows or movies.

This is largely as a result of the growing popularity of content management services, including VOD, among its customers.

Meanwhile in Latvia, Lattelecom has added the 3D channel HighTV 3D, initially on a trial basis, to its offer.

This follows on from the addition of rental movies in 3D, with the number available in its library growing by the month.

HighTV 3D has been placed in an eight-channel HD package that costs €3.80 a month to receive, with individual channels in the package being made available for LVL1.20 (€1.72) a month.
