CME on demand takes off

May 25, 2012 08.21 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Voyo on demand service operated by CME in its six Central and East European markets now has around 55,000 subscribers, according to David Sach, the company’s CFO.

Quoted in a CME newletter, he added that all the subscribers are now paying $4-8 (€3.2-6.4) a month, with the subscription model having achieved a positive OIBDA margin even at this early stage of development.

Commenting on the company’s future plans, Sach said that it has a multichannel strategy and will expand the number of channels in its portfolio as long as there is demand by viewers and interest by advertisers.

The focus this year will be on creating more subscription and premium pay-TV channels.
