BSkyB has acquired Acetrax, the Swiss OTT venture, available through a number of connected TV devices.
The company has contracts in place with device manufacturers Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Toshiba, Grundig, Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Netgear and D-Link.
Sky said the acquisition would support the continued development of Sky’s its OTT activities and further strengthen relationships with connected device manufacturers and content providers.
Acetrax is available in seven European countries (UK Ireland, Germany, Italy, France, Austria and Switzerland). The company has relationships with major Hollywood Studios including Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, as well as Momentum, Diva, Constantin, MK2, Film Is Now and music companies Eagle Rock and Charly Films.
