Telefónica’s pay-TV customer total has started to grow again in Spain following losses in the first six months of this year.
According to the company’s latest set of results, it had 20,000 net adds in the third quarter, bringing the total to 804,000 at the end of September, or 4% more than a year earlier.
Telefónica has also stemmed losses in its retail fixed broadband internet accesses, which fell by 1% year-on-year in September, following the launch of a new commercial offer in September.
Meanwhile in the Czech Republic, the IPTV service O2 TV operated by Telefónica continues to be flat-lined subscriber terms, ending the third quarter with the same number – 131,000 – as a year earlier.
Globally, Telefónica had 3.2 million pay-TV subscribers at the end of the third quarter.
