New rules governing product placement come into effect in Poland today (August 18).
According to Wirtualne Media, they have been implemented by the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) and require TV stations to clearly display an orange logo indicating that a programme has product placement.
The logo has to appear at the beginning and end of programmes and also at their restart following commercial breaks.
It also has to take up at last 5% of the screen size.
The rules only apply to programmes produced after May 23 this year.
New rules governing TV sponsorship and signs governing recommended minimum viewing ages for TV programmes will also be introduced in Poland on August 25 and 28 respectively.
