The Polish national commercial broadcaster TVN is considering a strategic investment ahead of its own sale to what may be a leading international media company.
According to Rzeczpospolita, it is eyeing up the production company Stavka, which is behind U-TV, one of the new commercial channels allocated a slot on the country’s first DTT multiplex.
TVN is already providing technical assistance to Stavka and the latter would like to secure access to the broadcaster’s content.
Stavka is currently owned by Stanislaw Krzeminski, who is also behind several other Polish production companies including Besta Film. UTV is expected to launch early next year.
