The international news channel France 24 has seen its distribution grow by 4 million households throughout Europe in recent months.
In Finland, it has doubled its distribution following launches on the two main cable networks (the merged Welho and DNA, serving 630,000 subscribers and Elisa, with 330,000 subscribers).
The English language version of the channel will also become available via DTT in the Helsinki region from January next year.
France 24 has also made major inroads in Central and Eastern Europe. In Russia, for instance, it has inked deals with three IPTV operators – Rostelecom, Stream TV and JSCTV, with 200,000, 82,000 and 20,000 subscribers respectively), as well as Beeline TV (mobile offer, 400,000 3G subscribers) and CrystalTV (portal, with 1,750,000 users).
Elsewhere, it has inked agreements with Blizoo in Bulgaria (300,000 subscribers), Telemach in Slovenia (70,000 subscribers), Liwest in Austria (40,000 subscribers), Makedonski in Macedonia (30,000 subscribers) and Telemach Digital Cable Systems in Romania (50,000 subscribers).
