The Czech Digital Group (CDG) has changed the terms of carriage on the country’s third digital multiplex, which it operates.
Digizone reports that stations are now being offered the opportunity of using only selected transmitters, thereby being able to cover individual or groups of regions rather than the entire country.
This option is likely to appeal to stations with limited funding such as Ocko, which has switched to the fourth multiplex. Like the third, it is currently under-utilised.
The CDG is owned by Radiokomunikace (CRa), which also operates the both the first and second multiplexes, the former on behalf of the public broadcaster CT.
The fourth multiplex is operated by the incumbent telco Telefónica O2.
