Euronews has announced plans to restructure its governance and organisation from December 2011. The company says the moves are necessary in order to support its continued development and to fully equip it to meet future challenges.
In the intervening period an executive board that comprises of chairman Philippe Cayla and managing director Michael Peters will run the news channel.
Cayla will be in charge of external relations, looking to expand the channel’s development opportunities, while Peters will be in charge of operations.
Euronews has just posted strong financial results for the eight consecutive year. Operating income of €60 million is up 14% year-on-year.
