Motorola Mobility has made a strategic investment in BlackArrow, the advanced advertising solutions start-up, as part of the organisations Series C funding. Terms of the investment have not been disclosed.
San Jose-based BlackArrow primary proposition is a sales suite that enables advertising campaigns to run across multiple platforms, television, computers and mobile phones. Last September BlackArrow partnered with NDS for an IBC demonstration of PVR ad substitution. It is also working with SeaChange on an integration with its AdPulse and Adrenalin products.
“Motorola Ventures invests in companies that accelerate our business strategy and are integral to our overall innovation efforts,” said Harshul Sanghi, managing director, Motorola Ventures. “Motorola’s presence and leadership in the video content delivery space will provide significant visibility for BlackArrow within their key markets.
As part of the collaboration, Motorola and BlackArrow will develop integrated addressable media and advertising solutions for set-top boxes and mobile devices, as well as cloud-based, hosted video services and IP video delivery. BlackArrow will use the additional capital from the investment for new product development and worldwide deployment of its Advanced Advertising System to networks and New TV content distributors.
