The sale of Poland’s fourth largest cable operator Aster, which has a presence in three cities including the capital, Warsaw, is drawing closer.
Wirtualne Media reports that Polkomtel has received documentation about the company from its owners Mid Europa Partners. Quoting Polkomtel’s president Jaroslaw Bauc, it adds that Aster is seen as complementary to Polkomtel’s business as both companies provide internet access.
Polkomtel’s current interests include the mobile company Plus. Aster has also attracted interest from the top three cable operators in Poland – UPC Polska, Vectra and Multimedia Polska – as well as the incumbent telco TPSA.
Janusz Arciszewski, the president of Aster, has already confirmed that the company is likely to be sold by the end of the year.
