August 20, 2010 09.47 Europe/London By Robert Briel

IBC 2010 – booth, IP703. Accedo Broadband has announced it will be introducing a range of applications for TV operators to make their offering available over connected TV devices such as TVs, Blu-ray players and other over-the-top (OTT) devices.

“We are uniquely positioned, with deep knowledge of both operator middlewares and connected TV solutions from the major consumer electronics manufacturers, allowing us to enable operators to successfully leverage the market opportunity presented by OTT,” commented Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo Broadband, in a statement. “2010 is the first year we witnessed significant scale in roll-out of Connected TV devices from the CE industry. We?re very excited about the rapid development and roll-out of connected TV.”

Accedo has deployed a range of video and media applications on all major connected TV platforms and has developed a framework for rapid development and integration with a variety of client platforms and back-end solutions.

“Connected TV gives consumers extensive choice between service providers for the first time,” continued Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo Broadband. “By rolling out a TV app on a connected TV device, DTH and cable operators can reach millions of new consumers, without the need for a new STB.”
