IBC 2010 – Hall 1, Stand A81a. Conditional access provider Conax says it plans to release details of a new CA platform at the IBC 2010 event in Amsterdam (September 9 – 14).
The Telenor-owned company says the new CA, labeled Conax Contego, will further strengthen the company’s commitment to excellence in providing pay-TV operations with superior quality, open standards, content security solutions combined with the freedom of choice for security-evaluated consumer devices and pricing models.
“This year at IBC, Conax will launch a completely new security platform – content protection is being transported to a truly new dimension,” said Conax EVP products & markets Geir Bjørndal. “Conax Contego has undergone lengthy testing within an advanced customer operation and confirms Conax’ reliability in developing the highest quality, multi-platform content security platform.”
Major clients for the existing CA system include ITI Group, Poland; Essel Group, India; Tele2Vision, Sweden; Digitenne (KPN), The Netherlands and Canal Digital in the Nordic region.
In March Conax announced plans to offer a fully integrated DVB set-top box platform that combines its conditional access solution with the user interface and PVR features of TiVo.
