Cablecom prices CI Plus module

May 21, 2010 14.33 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Cablecom has announced the pricing structure for its implementation of CI Plus, which the Liberty Global-owned operator is marketing in Switzerland as the DigiCard.

The module must first be purchased at a cost of CHF 99. This compares to the entry level HD mediabox receiver that attracts a CHF 150 pricepoint. Customers must then pay a monthly cable connection fee of a maximum CHF 24.20 and CHF 9, CHF 15 and CHF 30 for channel packages of 80, 125 and 165 channels. The same packages also include 1, 6 and 10 HD channels as part of Cablecom plans to encourage take-up of high definition services.

DigiCard customers will effectively play the same price as those who choose a set-top box, though Cablecom is also highlighting the benefits of the PVR.

Internet prices have also been revised and Cablecom is offering all customers a free entry-level connection of 300 Kbps.
