IBC 2009: IPTV Zone Pod. 503
German technology provider Wisi is demonstrating a suite of innovative IPTV solutions as part of the IPTV Zone.
Included are the IPTV Gateway OS XX, the latest addition to the successful Streamline series; the Edge QAM transmodulator WISI OE 01; the IP-based hospitality system Ingesuite and the IP-based middleware BeIPTV for the streaming of Live TV via data networks.
The Streamline DVB-IP Gateway is a standalone IP-streamer for DVB transport-stream signals. Its modular platform provides six input slots that can be fitted with various DVB frontends. Typical sources include IP, DVB-S, DVB-S2, DVB-T, DVB-C, ASI, SDI or AV Encoder. A dedicated common interface is available for each input stream.
Also of note, the BeIPTV streams live TV to set-top boxes on an IPTV network. Although comparable to a SMATV system it offers additional features, grouping content by pay-TV package or language and allowing the operator to customise individual content to target subscribers.
