The Romanian DTH platform Akta has dropped the music channels MTV and VH1 from its programme offer.
According to Media Expres, the two are the only music channels in the Romanian market that charge a distribution fee per subscriber, the others being available FTA.
Akta is operated by Digital Cable Systems (DCS), the third largest cable operator in Romania after UPC and RCS/RDS, and had around 85,000 subscribers as of Q3 2008.
RCS/RDS-owned Digi TV, the market leader, claim over one million.
