CTAM EUROSUMMIT ’08 – BERLIN. CTAM Europe has succeeded in extending its geographical footprint, adding new members in Germany, Spain and Eastern Europe. On the eve of the organisation’s annual Cable Marketing conference in Berlin, CTAM Europe chairman Chad Raube said the financial foundations of the organisation had been solidified by retaining traditional sponsors including UPC, Virgin and Ono, while adding new ones in Radialpoint and Convergys.
“We are receiving a good mix of new members from the European cable community, such as Welho [Finland] and Com Hem [Sweden], vendors and service providers,” Raube told Broadband TV News. “Some are coming from outside Europe (US, Canada) with the goal to get involved more in Europe, and some new programmers, such as Channel One from Russia and Da Vinci from Germany.” He said representatives from cable companies in Germany, Spain and Poland ensure CTAM’s presence as those markets grow.
Raube outlined that the initiatives undertaken by CTAM Europe stretched far beyond the annual EuroSummit. These include a series of mini-conferences covering topics of interest to members, such as a research drill down session held earlier this year in Munich focussing on customer care. The CTAM Europe website is also being redesigned to build on the knowledge library that has been created and to encourage self-learning.
In addition to providing a superb networking opportunity, Raube says the EuroSummit is an opportunity to share knowledge and learn from some of the best practices in the cable industry in Europe and the US. CTAM not only strives to share knowledge at the EuroSummit itself, but create a committed community of cable marketers from across the continent that can leverage their relationships developed through CTAM on an informal basis to improve their business performance.
