The Polish media group Agora is about to enter the country’s TV market.
According to Gazeta Prawna, the group will shortly conclude negotiations that will see it secure a 33% stake in the entertainment-based cable and satellite channel Superstacja for around PLN20 million (€5.77 million).
Superstacja currently lists Ster, a company with close links to Polsat, as a 50% shareholder. Agora, which has extensive interests in the publishing and internet sectors, has been considering establishing a presence in the Polish TV market for some time.
Its particular interest is understood to be the DTT sector.
