NetVision has said that the company’s acquisition of 15% in the Israeli cablenet HOT is just the first step on the road to taking complete control of the company.
In an interview with the business daily Globes, VP business and strategic development Shlomi Fruhling, said that despite early doubts among executive over the wisdom of the deal, the synergies for the ISP became obvious.
“Of course we intend to take over HOT, and stay with 15%. I doubt that even 51% will be enough for us,” Fruhling is quoted as saying.
With interest in acquiring HOT also coming from the mobile telco Cellcom, the local antitrust authorities have also noted the synergies. Fruhling said he did not believe the deal could be completed without a framework being put forward.
