The Belgian cable operator Interkabel has lowered the pricing of its basic In-Di digital offer and will be expanding with all Prime premium movie and sports channels. Customers can now rent a digital HD cable tuner for €4 a month and an HD tuner with PVR for €6.
From August 1, In-Di customers will also be able to subscribe to 12 Prime premium channels, six movie channels and up to six sports channels. The movie channels will retail for €19.95 a month and the sports package €14.95 monthly, with the combined costing €26.95. For an additional €5 viewers will be able to subscribe to the HD versions of the two main sports and movie channels.
The Prime channels are owned by Telenet, the operator that intends to buy the TV activities of the Interkabel networks. After failing to stop the sale, the incumbent Belgacom has now also put in a bid to buy these activities.
