ANGA Cable – Cologne. ANGA president Thomas Braun welcomed a “very international community” to the KölnMesse on the 10th anniversary of the German cable operator association’s annual trade fair.
Braun said that the initial 40 exhibitors had grown to 369 from 29 countries. Attendence levels had also increased over the ten years from 1,000 to 10,000 homes. In 2007 forty seven per cent of delegates came from outside Germany.
This is against a background where the number of cable customers has doubled – albeit from a low base – but according to Braun it could be more. Operators were continuing to upgrade their networks, but Braun said they were only halfway through the exercise.
