ONO has reached the significant milestone of one million TV customers. The Spanish cablenet put on 50,000 new subscribers in the first quarter.
The percentage of customers taking a TV package has also steadily grown and now represents 53.8% compared to 50.2% in Q1 2007. A total of 1,011,000 customers now receive TV services compared to 960,000 at the end of the last quarter, and 911,000 one year go. The total subscriber base is 1,878,000 a year-on-year increase of 3.5%.
At the same time ONO is making strong progress in VOD. 20 million events were recorded in Q1 08 compared to 7 million in Q1 2007.
91% of the installed base receives digital TV services.
Telephony is also climbing, despite heavy competition, 35,000 net adds year on year have taken the total to 1,616,000.
Customer churn, although high at 19.3%, has fallen three percentage points compared to Q1 2007.
Quarterly revenues of €400 million produced an EBITDA up 9.8% year-on-year at €165m and a profit of €9 million compared to the €10 million loss one year ago.
