Irish commercial network TV3 is reportedly in talks to purchase the Dublin local station TV6 for €10 million.
If successful Channel 6 would be included as part of TV3’s digital multiplex application, which is currently being considered by the BCI. TV3 is a part of the OneVision consortium, which also includes Setanta Sports, Eircom, Arqiva, and Dublin businessman Fintan Drury.
Local reports have played down the likelihood of an early agreement.
Channel 6 is owned by the Senator Feargal Quinn, the Cork-based Barry family and motor distributors the Gowan Group. It has targeted 15 to 35 year old market with a schedule dominated by US imports.
