A DVB-H trial has started in the Polish city of Kraków.
According to local reports, it is being undertaken by TP EmiTel, a wholly owned subsidiary of the incumbent telco TPSA, along with the four Polish mobile companies Centertel, Polkomtel, PTC and T4, and will last for several months.
Viewers are being offered 13 channels, including both the four leading national services TVP1, TVP2, Polsat and TVN, as well as such little known as Gazeta.pl and RMF Maxxx, are will probably also be provided with coverage of Euro 2008.
TP EmiTel began a DVB-H trial in Warsaw in October 2007 and the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) is expected to call a mobile TV tender at the end of June.
