KabelBW has said it has completed the switchover from Nagravision to NDS VideoGuard encryption. From this week onwards, the operator will use NDS exclusively. The total number of set-tops involved is 160,000 KabelBW digital customers plus the Premiere subscribers on the network.
Most of the set-top boxes received a software upgrade to make them compatible with NDS VideoGuard. The remaining boxes were exchanged with new ones. Subscribers who just receive the bouquet of (public) unencrypted channels were not affected and can continue to use their free-to-air digital receiver.
